About Shannon

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Shannon Lowe is a soprano currently pursuing post-graduate work at the University of Memphis. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Missouri Kansas-City Conservatory of Music, and a Master’s degree from the University of Memphis. 


Shannon has been a Young Artist at Varna International in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, where she sang the role of Laurie Moss in the Bulgarian national premiere of Aaron Copland’s The Tender Land. While in Bulgaria, she was also the Soprano Soloist in the Mozart Requiem and sang the role of Lakmé in the French Opera Orchestral Gala, both with the Stara Zagora State Orchestra. Shannon has spent two summers as a Young Artist at the Aquilon Music Festival in Oregon, where she has sung La Bourgeoise in the Baroque opera, La Chûte de Phaëton and The First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Other favorite roles include Despina, Così fan tutte; Miss Wordsworth, Albert Herring; Lisette, La Rondine; Papagena, Die Zauberflöte; Suor Genovieffa, Suor Angelica; and Suzel, L’amico Fritz.
